Spring into Summer

Watching and listening to all of the changes going on in nature. Our garden is growing and we have eaten many salads and shared them with friends. Seeing a few green tomatoes pop up, the Moon and Stars melon seedlings are starting to spread their leaves out. The sunflowers along our fence and really getting big, up to Jack's knees now! I wish all of you a beautiful transformation into the summer season!

SPRING

My morning coffee is at hand with the windows open, and the birds are singing. The clouds outside are a dark blueish grey and it is about to rain. I am thankful for the spring rains about to happen, our garden truly needs it.

Here are som photos of the last few weeks here at our little abode.

Three

My son Jack turned three last weekend.

IMG_1396

Such beautiful weather and perfect for a party of celebration outdoors. My friend Victoria Velting from Recycled + Revamped made him a green birthday crown, a guitar strap for his guitar, along with two birthday garlands.

IMG_1369

Thank You for your kindness and beautiful work Victoria!

IMG_1368
Jack received many other thoughtful gifts such as a small swing set, a outdoor play water sprinkler, a funny book called the Wonky Donkey, a play shaving kit and a Vtech Kidizoom camera.

He loved taking pictures with my IPhone but this camera is just his, and he definitely has a visual and creative eye.

Spring is Here! Spring is Here!

We are starting to see crocuses peep out along with a few daffodils. Inspired by the season of spring, we made a daffodil bunting.

IMG_1089

Only a few supplies are needed.

IMG_1086

  • Paper
  • paint/crayons
  • scissors
  • glue
  • paper egg cartons or orange/dark yellow styrofoam egg cartons
  • tape to adhere flowers to string
  • string for hanging

First trace your flowers from a pattern. You can make a star shaped petal pattern. Or you can use this one provided. Then get our your paints/crayons and color the petals. Cut, adult supervision/adults only.

IMG_1079

Then cut out egg shape cartons for inside of petals. Paint them orange.

IMG_1080

Let your flower parts dry. Then frolick in the sun!

IMG_1085

After some playtime we decided to add some few details, fun mark makings.

IMG_1087
Glue flower parts together. We liked using a new glue by Elmer's called Glue All. It's a sturdier more powerful glue. Let them dry, and play in the sunshine! Yeah, more playtime!

IMG_1088

After all this playtime. Jack needed a nap. While he napped Momma attached the flowers to some left over green wool yarn. I used masking tape, you can use any type as long as your flowers stick.

IMG_1090

Now hang your spring project up for everyone to see! We hung ours in Jack's playroom, to spice it up a bit!

Whole Body, Whole Mind, Whole Health

I finally feel like I am getting my life in balance again.

IMG_5799

There are a few things that I have mentioned in my past few blogging momments that have helped me through this. One of my big links in getting myself into balance is Heather's workshop: Whole Food.

        Whole Food Kitchen

For the past few weeks I have been cooking up yummy and healthy meals for my family.

By creating this new whole foods approach in our family. We have started to work out again. Making sure that Momma and Jack get outside for an afternoon walks again. I have stripped our kichen of man-made foods, and organized our kitchen with jars filled with lentils, nuts, dried fruits, and wonderful spices! We are seeing starting to see new healthy selves mind, body and soul!

I would like to thank Heather Bruggeman,Kathy Stowell,Goddess Leonie,

and Tsh Oxenreider.

Also check out Kathy's Stowell's ebook giveaway on Bliss Filled Momma.I will be giving away one free ebook and MP3 of her book the morning of Wednesday 22nd! Just post a comment here.

Bliss Filled Momma's Happy List...

One of my favorite things is list making. In Kathy's Stowell's new ebook she talks about a happy list( page6/7) in order to use as a quick reference to celebrate our life! Sometimes I get into a slump, a groggy state of depression or feeling sorry for myself. This listmaking is a good way to pop yourself out of that negative state!

Hello There

Kathy's list included her love for knitting, latte's, and going out for Thai food with herself and her People magazine in tow.

                                       What makes you happy?

  Here's my quick happy list:

1. Morning coffee french pressed or latte

2. Listening to good music.

3. Reading a book or magazine.

4. Sewing something for me.

5. Listening to Jack's laugh.

6. Surprise flower bouquet from my hubby.

7. Watching our fish in their tank.

8. Walk in the woods.

9. Listening to the birds.

10. Making pizza with my family.

11. Paining in my studio.

12. Naps by myself...

13. Going to Barnes and Nobles by myself and getting a good cup of Joe.

14. Making bread and smelling it in my kitchen.

15.Surfing the internet or going on Pinterest.

16. Taking pictures on Instagram.

17. Talking to my crafting friends.

18. Writting a snail mail letter.

19. Flipping through my craft or house books.

20. Working out, by myself.

I am giving a way one of Kathy's ebooks and MP3 reading of her book to one lucky reader. Post your comment on Bliss Filled Momma's story below. I will be giving away the book this friday 17th!

Bliss Filled Momma

With some help from some helpful guru's I am declaring this year 2012, a health-filled year! From head to toes I am working on all over body health.

IMG_0766

Setting goals of quiet outdoor walks, listening to more music, weekly heathy meals, routine of daily tasks, and more Momma time! I recently fell in love with some words of wisdom from my favorite blogger creative goddess and bliss-filled Momma, Kathy Stowell.

Kathy has written a wonderful ebook filled with insightful information on how to get us Momma's back on track and be the Momma's we want to be. She also offers her ebook on MP3 which I listened to on my way back from visiting my Momma in South Carolina. I vowed to myself to listen to this every month of this year so I can keep on the Bliss-filled Momma groove!

She is offering one of her ebooks/MP3 to one of my reader's! I will be picking out a random reader the morning of Friday February 17th! More this week on this fabulous, insightful ebook!
